Stay Connected:

As WOtW organization a lot has been achieved in the past one year, team building, good communication from both the USA and Ugandan teams, and regular virtual meetings. It is very exciting that we are fully registered as Community Based Organization and have a fully equipped WOtW office. We are proud that the goals of the one year work plan developed in March 2024 have been achieved.

The welcome dinner was exciting, amazed to see the USA team members again, and to meet the new members, Catherine and Ruth. The training on Care if High Risk of preterm birth went very well, and it was particularly exciting to involve health workers from higher facilities to which we refer: Gulu Regional Referral Hospital and Lacor Hospital. We hope this will facilitate referrals of mothers and babies needing a higher level of care. During the training we received a mother with preterm labor and we had the opportunity to evaluate our knowledge from the training in a real life situation. (See Meg Carmel’s blog).

After training was completed, the WOtW team visited two local health centers (See Nyeko Richard Ssemujju’s blog), enabling us to interact with the staff on the ground and their tremendous work.  I also had the opportunity to publish WOtW’s organization, vision, mission, goals and objectives on the media!

We ended with a very fun closing dinner, with lots of games, fun and bye bye wishes followed the next day by a successful meeting to create our 2025 year plan, 2026 year plan and 3 to 5year plan.

To conclude, I am so grateful to WOtW for the great achievements we have accomplished together.
