My recent training on Point-of-Care Ultrasound has been a very meaningful step in improving the care I provide to mothers and babies. Before this training, many assessments during pregnancy relied mainly on physical examination and the mother’s clinical presentation.

Learning how to use ultrasound has opened a new window that allows me to see what is happening inside the uterus more clearly. It helps in determining the baby’s gestational age, presentation and position, and overall well-being. It also helps us identify potential complications earlier than before.

I believe this new knowledge and these new skills will greatly strengthen my work as a midwife. With ultrasound, I can make more informed decisions, provide better guidance to expectant mothers, and refer complicated cases in time when necessary.

Most importantly, ultrasound gives mothers reassurance and a better understanding of the condition of their babies during pregnancy.

I look forward to using this knowledge to improve maternal and newborn health in our community and to continue learning so that every mother who comes to our facility receives safe and quality care.

A very big thank you to WoTW–US.
